After almost 600 pitches, I watched TCU defeat Sam Houston State in the 22nd inning at roughly 2:00 am this morning. In a world of Moneyball and analytics for almost anything, baseball has an overlying anti-Moneyball and anti-mathematics for everything feel. The great game is not governed by time. It sometimes will not end when you think it should. Our lives and work are constantly driven by the constraints of time. The number 1,440 is the most important number in our lives - the number of minutes in a day. But for seven hours yesterday and today, 1,440 was never in the box score!!!
One other interesting point about the game. TCU employed two drones to take photographs and video of the game. Drones have arrived at the ballpark.
