The Information-Water-Energy Nexus
The Information-Water-Energy Nexus is probably one of the most important issues in the global economy. A great view of this nexus is in Sweden. You have firms like Google (Information) investing billions in new data centers close to the Artic Circle. Google ("Do-No-Evil") is looking at low-carbon and sustainable energy sources - hydroelectric power (Water and Energy) accounts for nearly 50% of Sweden's total electricity. Data centers need cooling, lots of cooling - and nothing improves the thermal efficiency of a data center more than cold semi-Artic water (Water).
